DAVIE CUP RACE. TO-NIGHT’S HANDICAPS. The first race for the Dr. Davie Cup will be run to-night at the Sportsground under the auspices of the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club. The eup was won last year by 8. Jakes, who gained nineteen points out of a possible thirty. The raees for the trophy consist of middle distance events covering two one miles, two 880 yards, and two 440 yards. There are also thi'ee races for those not desiring to enter for the cup, while the high jump and shot will also bo on the ground.
