SOCIAL AND DANCE. (From Our Own Correspondent.) A very enjoyable “Linen livening” dance was recently given by Mies Julian at the Egmont Cafe, Inglewood, for Miss Mairi Macßae, who is to be married shorty. The bride-elect was the recipitent of many beautiful and costly linen presents. During the evening several items were rendered by Misses G. and M. Beadle, Miss Meston, Mr. N. Ross, and Mrs. C. Nicholls (songs), Mrs. Hill (humourous recitation), Mr. G. Sutherland (dance) and Miss Baker (musical item).
Miss Julian received hsr, guests in black georgette with diamante trimmings. Among those present were: Mrs. Macßae, black chiffon velvet; Mrs. Hill, black chiffon over flame; Mrs. Nicholls, hand-painted chiffon over silver tissue; Miss Macßae, red brocaded morocain; Miss Beadle, cream satin rao'rocain; Miss G. Ross, shell pink brocaded satin; Miss B. Coles, gold tissue; Miss Gydo ,autumn crepe-de-chene; Miss J. Macßae, lavender rippilaino satin; Miss 1). Bocock, blue ehameuse; Miss M. Beadle, floral crcpe-de-chene, Miss N. Beadle, saffron velvet trimmed fur; Miss McCormick, maroon satin brilliante; Mies T. Maeßae, sea green satin, grenadine; Miss Pv. Meston, iiaine georgette. On Thursday, January 2”, a kitchen tea afternoon was given by Mrs. Her-bet-Giles for Miss Mairi Macßae in honour of her fortlieoniiug marriage to Mr. 8. W. Evans. Many useful presents were given to the bride-to-be. The afternoon tea was accompanied by pianoforte music, ably rendered by Miss 84. Julian who also accompanied the singing of “For she’s a Jolly good Fellow at the close of the afternoon.
