KORU PA RESERVE

NATIVE GIFT TO CROWN. The Koru Pa reserve has been given to the Crown to be set aside as a scenic and historic reserve for the benefit and use of the public. The gift was made by the owners, Kehu Moepuke and her niece (a minor) at a sitting of the Native Land Court, at New Plymouth, presided over by Judge J. W. Browne. Koru Pa was preserved for many years practically in its original condition. Kehu Moepuke wished to present the site to Mr. W. H. Skinner, who had it fenced off and protected some years ago. Mr. Skinner found himself unable to accept Buch a personal gift, and it was suggested to Kehu Moepuke that the gift be made to the Minister of Lands, on behalf of the Crown.
