LADIES’ LIFE-SAVING

CLUB COMMITTEE MEETS. The New Plymouth Ladies’ Life Saving Club held its monthly committee meeting this week. Present: Aliss Dowling (in the chair), Misses Alynott, Ellis, AV. Gayton, Airs. Scott and the general secretary (Mrs. Af. Avery). An apology was received from Mias Hartnell, and it was reported that Mrs. Larsen and Miss Saxton wyre away on holiday.

A letter was received from the New Plymouth Amateur Athletic Club regarding the New Plymouth Ladies’ Life Saving Club members joining the club. It was resolved to reply that the matter would be discussed by the physical culture members when they recommence, and that a furthr reply would then be forwarded.

The orchestral secretary (Aliss V. Ellis) reported that the orchestra had had its photograph taken early in December, and that the orchestra members had had a picnic on Airs. T, Avery’s property on January 3. The orchestra resumes practice on February 3. Life-saving work is now going on at the baths, and now that finer weather was here it was hoped more members would be attending. The social branch meetings will be resuined. in March.
