COASTAL MOVEMENTS.

The Corinna is to clear New Plymouth at about 11 o’clock this morning with butter and cheese for transhipment to the Tongarlro at Wellington. From that port she will go south. (U.S.S. Co.). The Kaitangata arrived at New Plymouth at 4.30 p.m. yesterday and berthed at the Newton King wharf upon the departure of the Rarawa last night. She will discharge 263 tons of general cargo and sails to-day for Greymbuth. (U.S.S. C 0.)., The Titoki is expected to complete her discharge of 300 tons of coal from Westport today and returns to that port this evening. (Cock and Co.)

The Totara is due at New Plymouth this afternoon from Timaru, via YVelllngton, with a full cargo of benzine and will sail on Monday for Wellington and Lyttelton. (U.S.S. Co.) The Kittawa is due at daylight on Monday with a cargo of timber from Greymouth. She later sails for Miramar and Wellington. (U.S.S. Co.)

The Progress is due at New Plymouth on Tuesday next from Lyttelton, Wellington and Picton. She sails later for Dargaville. (Holm and Co.)

The Opihi leaves Lyttelton to-day, YVelllngton on Monday' and Nelson on Tuesday for New Plymouth, where she is due on Wednesday next. She afterwards returns south. (U S.S. Co.).

The John, from Dunedin, Timaru, Lyttelton, Wellington and Wanganui, is due at New Plymouth next Wednesday and sails later for Westport, (Holm and Co.)

NOTICE TO MARINERS.

The Customs Department has received advice from tlie Secretary of Marine that the cable buoy, moored at Oterangi Bay, deg. true, distant 2.6 miles from Kar-jrl Rock light, has been removed.

MAHANA ARRIVES FROM LONDON

The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Mahana, which left Wellington at noon on Thursday for New Plymouth, arrived at daylight and was berthed at the Newton King wharf at 8 o’clock, drawing 19ft. forward and 21ft. aft. She has about 1400 tons of general London cargo for discharge and should sail on Tuesday evening for Wellington, where she will await further orders. A list of officers was published in Thursday’s issue.

PORT MELBOURNE’S DEPARTURE.

Owing to her being unable to berth until 11

o’clock yesterday morning. It is now doubtful whether the C. and D. Line steamer Port Melbourne will clear this port on Tuesday evening, as expected, although an effort will be made to do ao. She has about 1300 tons of genera! London cargo for discharge here, and sails for Auckland to complete discharge and commence loading for Home. She also loads at Tokomaru Bay, Gisborne, Wellington >and a ►South Island port, and is to be dispatched for England about the middle of . January.

GALLIC BN ROUTE FROM AUSTRALIA

The Shaw, Savill and Albion steamer Gallic left Sydney yesterday morning for New Plymouth to commence Homeward loading. She Is due here on Tuesday morning and afterwards fills up at Wanganui, Napier, Waikokopu, Gisborne and Wellington. She is due at Wellington on January 13, and sails finally from that port on January 20 for London, via Cape Horn. As no berth will be available she will probably not enter port until Wednesday.

DEWEY' FROM PACIFIC CtfAST

The American steamer Dewey arrived at Wellington from Auckland late on Thursday night and is expected to leave on Tuesday night or Wednesday morning for New Plymouth, where she will arrive on Wednesday, probably in the morning. She will afterwards proceed to Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane, and later to the East.

MATAKANA’S ALLOTMENT

Due at New Plymouth between January and 12, the Shaw, Savill and Albion stcame Ma taka na, besides loading 19,000 freight car cases of meat for Home, will load 10,000 boxe of butter and 4000 crates of cheese. She is to load at Pacific Coast ports during January for Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne, Adelaide and Sydney. Other forward loading dates at Pacific Coast ports are approximately as follow: The Waitemata, during February, for probably Papeete, Napier, Lyttelton, Dunedin, Bluff and New Plymouth. The Wairuna during March for probably Apla, Auckland, Wellington, Melbourne and Sydney. The Waiotapu during April for New Zealand and Australian ports. The Hauraki during May for New Zealand and Australian ports.
