LORD GRANTED DIVORCE
WIFE’S INTRIGUE WITH SERVANT, Lard Illingworth of Denton petitioned for the dissolution of his marriage with Annie Elizabeth Lady Illingworth o» the ground of her adultery with a former man-servant, William Nottage. The ease was not contested. Lord Illingworth said the marriage took place on April 16“ 1895. There were no ehildfen. ~
Nottage was formerly in his employ. Lady Illingworth gave way to drink. Cta May 14 last' he received a letter from NtSttage’s wife 1 enclosing one from Lady Illingworth. Lord Merrivale read the letter afie said: “It shows in the clearest terms that immediately before the fetter the respondent and the co-respondent had spent the night together arid that adultery took place. Lord Bling-worth said liis wife afterwards admitted adultery with Nottage. Notice on Door. EdWar-d Davenport, butler to Lord Ibtn-.a'wOdii. said he entered the latter's service as footman in 1921. Mr Victor Russell (for Lord Illingworth): Did you notice anything in the terms between Lady Illingworth and' Nottage —Yds: familiarity and friendliness. Davenport added that when Lord Illirigworth was not at home Nottage used to spend a good deal of time with Lady Illingworth in the dining-room of sitting-room.
