CONTROL OF PHILLIPINES
COMPLETE AUTONOMY PLANNED. By Telegraph—Press Assn. —Copyright. New York, Dec. 12. President Coolidge is maturing plans to give the Filipinos a virtual grant of complete autonomy at an early date, with eventual independence. He proposes that the United States should retain protective relationship with the Philipines, as in the case of Cuba, retaining the right to intervene for the restoration of order and protection from foreign aggression. He also aims to develop the natural resources of the group, particularly rubber.
