The Auckland Power Board decided to-day to adhere to its policy of preference to British goods, and in spite o. the fact that a German firm tendered at a price over £4OO below the lowest British tender, it gave the contract to a British firm. . The German firm submitted A price ot £666 for triple braided cable. The next lowest tender was that of the Liverpool Electric Cable Company at £lllO, or £444 more than the German tender The highest of the 16 tenders received w as £1145, and the contract went to the Liverpool company.
