THE NORTHCLIFFE ESTATE

MISS OWEN LOSES CASE. Br Telegraph—P-ass Assn.—Copyright. London, Dee. 10. The Northcliffe case was dismissed. Mr. Jowitt announced that he had advised Miss Owen to agree to judgment for defendants with costs. The case was one in which Miss Louise Ot'.'.n, who was the late Lord Northcliffe’s confidential secretary, and a beneficiary under Iris will, claimed that the sale of newspaper properties by Sir George Sutton to Lord Rothermere in September, 1922, for £1,643,000, should be declared void. Plaintiff claimed that the properties were really worth much more, as shown by the fact that Lord Rothermere sold them one year later for £5,600,000.
