LONDON WOOL SALES. MANY WITHDRAWALS. Sy Telearapb—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dec. 12, 5.5 p.m. London, Dec. 10. The wool sales have closed. The total offerings included 68,734 Australian and 40,243 New Zealand bales. Withdrawals amounted to 40,000 bales, half of which were from New Zealand. The attendance was good throughout with fair competition. Good merinos were 5 per cent, below the September sale, and shabby inferiors fully ten per cent. down. Comebacks and fine crossbreds soM well at September rates, but medium and lower grades were 7J per cent, down. The home trade, Alsaee and Gerniacy were the chief buyers, and their requirements served to counteract the French and Belgian inactivity. The New Zealand clip Baparatu brought JOd LONDON MARKETS. TARANAKI STOCK MARKET, The Farmers’ Co-operative Organisation Society report as follows: — At Hawera on Thursday we submitted a fair yarding of all classes of caGle to a good attendance of buyers. All cattle were in good demand, as also were pigs. Bidding was spirited throughout and a good sale resulted. Aged fat bullocks made £8 5s to £9 4s; fat cows £6 17s 6d to £7 7s 6d; paddock cows, £5 to £5 Ils; store cows, £4 5s to £»•; boners, 35s to £3 15s; canners, 25s to 30s; works bulls, £2 15s to £4; cows ami calves, £3 13s; small shorn two-tooth ewes and wethers, 17s fid; do. 4-tooth ewes and wetlr ers, 20s; weaner pigs, 10s to 225; small stores, 24s to 30s; large stores, 32s 6d to £2 4s. At Waverley on Friday wo had a good yarding of fat cattle, and a small entry of works cattle. Bidding throughout was good and on the whole a very satisfactoi-y sale resulted. Fat cows made £6 10s to £7 4s; fat heifers, £6 10s; light fat cows, £6 ss; paddock cows. £4 to £6; works bulls, £3 Is; yearling Jersey heifers, £3 Is; woolly ewe hoggets, 25s 3d; woolly wether hoggets, 225;, store ewes, las; weaner pigs, 8s to' 255,' ■ .
