NEW GUINEA GOLD FIELD
FURTHER MURDERS REPORTED. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Sydney, Dec. 11. It is reported from Bulolo by wireless that a fresh tragedy near Edie Creek was discovered when the bodies of two native carriers were found in a ravine near a small native village, riamed Rabaul, approximately two days’ journey from Bulolo on *the way to Salamoa. The bodies were shockingly mutilated, one almost beheaded. The fresh atrocity will make it still more difficult for gold-seekers to secure means of transport for their belongings. It is thought, the carriers were murdered by hsotile local natives during the past few days, it is alleged that spears have been thrown at other carriers, several of whom have mysteriously disappeared. No trace of them can be found, and fears are entertained for their safety. A squad of native police, under a white police master, has been dispatched to the scene of the murder.
