(From Our Own Correspondent.) Kaponga, Last Night.. ■ Favoured with ideal weather the official opening of the Convent Tennis Club was held to-day. There was a large attendance of members and vlsitois. The president (Mr. D. P. F. Malone), m his opening address, said he was very pleased to see so many members and visitors from tho Riverlea and Kaponga i clubs, and extended to them a hearty welcome, hoping that they would all enjoy themselves, and that this season they would have many more friendly matches between the outside clubs. Mr O S. Champtaloup, of the Kaponga Tennis Chib, replied on behalf of the visitors and thanked the president and members of the Convent Chib for their invitation to be present at the opening. He trusted they would have n successful season. The winners of .the Yankee tourna‘ment which was held during the afternoon were Mr. C. Patterson and Miss J. Severne. At the conclusion of the tournament the president presented, the winner* with a small memento and congratulated them on their good playAfternoon tea was provided by Mrs. Malone assisted by many willing helpers.
