FREE PASSAGES OPPOSED
DOMESTICS FOR AUSTRALIA. By tiegraph—Press Assn.—Capyrigirt. Melbourne, Dec. 'J. Mr. W. C. Stillmann, of the Commonwealth Immigration Department, stated that in future free passages will be offered to migrating domestics. This is being done so that Australia will not be placed at a disadvantage compared with New Zealand. Previously domestics paid £ll, the remainder of the fare being borne equally by the Commonwealth and the. British Governments. These Governments will now bear the whole cost.
