GUIDANCE FOR MOTORISTS
LIGHTHOUSES SUGGESTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, Dec. 9. Flashing lighthouses at intervale of every two miles to guide motorists on country roads at night have been suggested by the North Island Motor Union, but the Auckland Automobile Association opposed the erection of lighthouses with advertising on them, the opinion being expressed at last night’s meeting that the object was to make motoriss read adverisements at danger points when the drivers’ attention should not bo distracted from the road. The chairman said they had their own signs throughout the province, and by the use of spotlights they could be seen quite plainly by night.
