DE MON STR ATION FAR M. WAIMATE WEST AREA. (From Our Own Correspondent.) The monthly meeting of tlie Waimate West Demonstration Farm Area Committee was held on Thursday. Present: Messrs. J. W. Deem (chairman), E. Long, J. F. Stevenson, J. Leslie, F. Mourie, R. Dunn and Sir William Le Fleming and T. Paterson (farm manager). Leave of absence was granted to Mr. J. S. McKay. The chairman’s report stated that the number of cows in milk was 55, and there were four not yet The latest return cf milk was 17421 b. per day and 73991 b .of butter fat had been taken up to November 30, an increase ef 23111 b. over last, year’s production. A price of (id per lb. had been received for 12 pig» and £1 each for seven weaners. All tlie oat and lucerne ensilage had been put. in by November 29. The meeting decided to purchase haymaking machinery. Mr. Geo. Cowling waited upon the committee to ask permission to obtain a water supply from the farm. Tltia was agreed io providing the necessary permission were granted by the Manaia Town Board. The manager reported that the root crops had been sown and with the exception of the earrots good strikes luid been experienced. The carrots had had to be re-sown.
