BUTTER FOR AUSTRALIA
EXPORT FROM NEW ZEALAND. SLIGHTLY BETTER PRICES. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Dee. 9. Owing to the recent drought in certain parts of Australia, orders have been placed lately for New Zealand butter for the Australian market, and the prices offered have risen from ,1s 3d until business has been done at Is 4’/ad f.o.b. New Zealand ports for the finest grade. Australia requires butter containing 82 per eent. butter-fat as compared with the SO per eent. in New Zealand. Taking the named quotation in London for finest New Zealand Board controlled butter as 170 s per cwt,, (equal to Is 4.31 d f.o.b. New Zealand ports) the Australian price of Is 4%d f.o.b. New Zealand ports is a shade better.
