MISSING AUTHORESS

NO TRACE OF WHEREABOUTS. SEARCH IN LONDON PROCEEDING. By Telegraph—Press Assn.—Copyright. Received Dee. 9, 7.30 p.m. London, Dee. 8. Mystery succeeds mystery in the Christie search. A letter written by her and posted in London on Saturday after the discovery of the abandoned ear on Friday evening, has changed the scene of operations to the London district. Nevertheless the search is being continued on the Surrey Downs. The problem is a difficult one to answer. The weight of evidence suggests that Mrs. Christie is wandering aimlessly. Her brother-in-law, to whom the letter was addressed, says that she mentioned she proposed going away for the week-end, and he is satisfied she was normal at the time of writing it.
