THE NATIONAL PARK
THE DANGER OF HEATHER. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The National Park Board unanimously resolved: “It being of the opinion that it is impossible to eradicate heather save at a cost beyond the means of the board, no further seed be planted, and that steps be taken to prevent further spreading of the heather now in the park.” The board confirmed the policy of opposition to planting, except under domestication, of injurious plants. In regard to the hostel, no applications have been received for the lease of other rights offered by the board.
