TRANSFERS NOTIFIED. INSPECTOR MURRAY PROMOTED. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The following promotions and transfers in the Police Force have been notified: — , Inspector Murray, of New Plymouth, is promoted to be superintendent and transferred to Dunedin to take charge, vice Superintendent Mathieson (de. ceased). Inspector D. C. Fraser, of Greymouth, takes Inspector Murray’s place at New Plymouth, and is promoted to the rank of inspector. Sub-Inspector L. E. O’Halloran, of Dunedin, is transferred to take charge at Greymouth, his place at Dunedin being taken by Senior-Sergeant J. Fahey, of Timaru, who is promoted to the rank of sub-inspector. Chief-Detective T. Gibson of Christchurch, at hie own request, is transferred from the detective branch to the corresponding rank of senior-sergeant in the uniformed service. He will go to Timaru to replace Senior-Sergeant Fahey. Chief-Deteetive W. E. Lewis, transfer, red from Dunedin for health reasons, fills the vacancy at Christchurch, whiki Senior Detective D. Cameron, of Wellington, is transferred to Dunedin with the rank of Chief Detective. Sergeant D. B. Murray takes charge of the Addington Station, being transferred from South Dunedin, his place there being filled by Sergeant C. H. Lennon, transferred from Lawrenee Lawrence, having no further need for a sergeant, will be in charge of Constable M. Hodgins, from Lyttelton.
