PONTIAC COMPETITION

RESULT .ANNOUNCED. Mr. F. A. Reesby, of Inglewod, proved the winner of the Pontiac competition with an estimate of 1107.2 miles. Mr. Stephenson, of Baring Terrace, New Plymouth, with an estimate of 1108.4 miles, was second. The actual mileage run by the Pontiac car during the 168 hours was 1107.6 miles. The result was announced last evening at Mr. L. H. Johnson’s garage by Mr. P. Stainton in the presentee of a large and interested crowd of would-be winners. The estimates were nothing if not varied, the lowest estimate being SOO miles and the highest, 11.000 miles. Public interest in the competition has been keen as may be judged from the fact that 3807 votes were recorded. This brings to a conclusion Mr. L. H. Johnson s motor show which has been held during the past week. The show lias proved most successful, many people taking the opportunity to inspect and, in many cases, to purchase the splendid cars on view.
