- The King on Thursday gave an audience to Sir James Parr on his appointment as High Commissioner. A cablegram from Perth reports that Air. W. C. Angwin, at present Minister of Lands, will succeed Mr. A. P. Oolebateh as Agent-General for West Australia. A London mewago says that uigcnt Private affairs will prevent LieutenantCommander and Lady Doris Vyner from accompanying the Duke and Duchess of xork on their tour. Mrs. .Tulip Little Gilmour will therefore become laJy-in-waiting and the. Duke’s equerry will be announced later.

The death occurred last week at his residence, "The Glen,” Wakapuaka, Nelson, of Mr. Janies Morrison, for a number of years superintendent of Nelson Asylum. A Past Masonie Grand Master, Mr. Morrison leaves a widow, two daughters, and five sons, foot of whom served in the Great War. The death occurred at Wellington on Wednesilay after a short illness of Mr. Charles Robert Stuart. .Mr, Stuart, who was born in Wellington, was 5S years of age. He was “ eldest son of the late David Thomson Stuart, of Wellington. r To was educated at Wellington College and was for some years in business as a merchant in Wanganui. In 1921 he joined the firm of Henry Kember and Sou, and remained in partnership with them until early this year, when lie went into business as an auditin' and accountant. He married a daughter of the late Mr. J. E. Page, of Wellington. The late Mr. Stuart was possessed of a kindly nature, which endeared him to a wide circle of friends. In his younger days he took an interest in athletics and was a member of the Athletic Football Chib. He leaves a widow ami son (Mr. D. IL Stuart, solicitor, of Wellington), and a daughter (Mrs. I>.
