AUCKLAND WOOL SALES
PRICES DECIDEDLY FIRMER. (By Wire —Special to News.) Auckland, Last Night. The first woo! sale of the season in Auckland opened to-night. There was a large bench of buyers, representing all wool consuming countries. Competition was keen throughout. The offering this year opened up lighter in condition than in the previous season. As the various lots were offered competition was spirited and general, notwithstanding the adverse reports from the London sales, which opened on November 23. Prices to-night were, decidedly firmer than at previous sales in the Dominion this season. Prices and bellies showed a considerable advance on the Wanganui sales owing to the quality suiting the French buyers.
The complete range of prices is at present not available, as the sale will continue till midnight, but the sale is progressing well with an upward tendency in values. The wool is being well distributed, Bradford and Continental buyers being strongly in the market.
