ITALIAN AIR TOUR.

»E PINEDO’S ACHIEVEMENT. PLEA EpR RECOGNITION. By Telegraph—Pres. Awn.—Copyright. London, Oct. 9. A pica for the remembrance of De Pinedo’s remarkable flight is submitted in a letter to the Daily Telegraph. The writer- asks English sportsmanship and sense of justice in the midst of singing Cobham's praises not to overlook the Italian’s achievements. He points out that Cobham’s route, as far as Kupang, was almost identical with that of De Pinedo.

The Italian flew round Australia, via Western Australia, thence to Japan, thence to Rome, with the same engine and machine. Cobham covered 70,000 miles less, therefore his is not a record, though there is certainly just cause for British pride.
