~ ACTIVITY IN WELLINGTON. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Wellington, Last Night. The bowling season opened on Saturday but wet weather interfered with the success. , There were large gatherings at the various -greens where the formal ceremonies were carried out but the soaked condition of the greens prevented play. Eastbourne had already opened their season and on Saturday Victoria, Thorndon, Kelburn, Petone, Hataitai, Lower Hutt, Lyall Bay, Khandallah and Johnsonville Clubs opened. The tennis opening was postponed. The cricket season opens next Saturday. The services of Badcock, the professional coach, are in demand.
