GISLA IN PORT. An arrival at New Plymouth at noon yesterday was tli© Norwegian motor ship Gisla with 3000 tons of phosphates from Nauru Island for discharge here. The Gisla left Wellington last July for Ocean island, where she originally intended loading, but conditions on the islands necessitated her being diverted to Nauru Island, but it was some time before loading could be commenced. Upon leaving Nauru on September 9 for New Plymouth direct, the vessel struck a heavy south-westerly roll, which continued from the time she passed New Caledonia until she reached the New Zealand coast. The vessel is expected to be in port until next Tuesday, when she will proceed to Wanganui to put out the balance of her cargo. Captain Thomas Pbbesen is in command, and lias with him the following officers: Chief, Mr. O. Bjrerudahl; second, Mr. J. Johnson; third, Mr. G. Knudsen; chief engineer, Mr. C. Euholm; second, Mr. L. Rognoldsen; third, Mr. A. Christensen; chief steward, Mr. H. Nelson. TITOKI CLEARS FOR NELSON. After discharging 350 tons of coal from Westport, the Titoki cleared New Plymouth yesterday evening for Nelson. YO SERIO DELAYED. During her voyage from New Plymouth to Westport, where she is to bunker before proceeding to Australia, the Y’oseric wirelessed that she was sheltering at Awaroa Bay. RIMUTAKA DUE THURSDAY. The New Zealand Shipping Company’s steamer Rimutaka will not now arrive at New Plymouth until Thursday next to commence loading for United Kingdom ports. She is to leave Bluff on Saturday for Nelson and will leave there on Wednesday for New' Plymouth. FIRE ON KAITOKE. On Saturday afternoon fire broke out on the Union Company’s steamer Kaitoke, at Auckland. The outbreak was soon suppressed, however, little damage being done. The vessel sailed at 10 p.m. for Wellington. She was scheduled to leave there to-day for New Plymouth, but the Union Company advises that her trip has been cancelled. Her cargo, with transhipments from the Cumberland, will arrive at New Plymouth on Sunday by the Tctara. PROGRESS DISPATCHED. After discharging 150 tons of general southern cargo and loading 70 tons, the Progress was dispatched yesterday evening for Lyttelton, via Wellington, Dunedin, Oamartl and Timaru. OPIHI ARRIVES FROM SOUTH. With transhipments ex the Opawa. the Keelung and the Sussex, the Opihi arrived at New Plymouth early yesterday afternoon from Wellington, via Nelson. She was berthed yesterday evening and Is expected to sail tonight. for Dunedin, via Wellington, and loads ut the former port on Monday for New Plymouth, coming via the usual southern i>orts.
