FARM AND DAIRY.
AUCKLAND ROYAL SHOW. Mr. A. D. Stanley, the managing secretary of the Auckland Royal Show, has just returned from a visit to Manawatu and Taranaki, and I have perused his report with the greatest pleasure, as all along his journey he received the most encouraging accounts from the various districts and splendid promises of exhibits, which clearly indicates the active interest the breeders arc taking in the Auckland Royal Show (stated Mr. IV. Massey in Auckland last week). My society has co-operated with the Industrial Association in making the 1926 show period a Royal Carnival Week. The City Council has approved the making of a grant and also undertaken the various street decorations. The floral fete, which is to be held on People’s Day, November 17, promises to eclipse any similar fete that has been attempted in Auckland before. In the cycle road race from Haiiiilton to Auckland £l6O in cash and numerous valuable trophies have been donated, and the event promises to receive good support from cyclists from all parts.
