The Overseas Trade Department's bulletin mentions that a Manchester firm received an older for plants for three extensive flour mills in and around Melbourne. The Times, commenting on the dairying report, says: “It is encumbent on the various parts of the Empire immediately to take up the question how best to ensure the future of the industry against the pressure of foreign countries with low wages and low standard of living. There is no escape from the committee’s conclusion that the Empire producer must discover and adopt more .efficient and cheaper methods of production.” The Financial Times states: “While the Empire proportion of the dairying trade is good it is capable of expansion. The problem is to increase the output without increasing the cost.”
