CORRESPONDENCE.
A SCIENTIST'S STRICTURES. "
(To the Editor.) Sir, —In Saturday's News appears aft account of an atldi'ess given by Mr. Veale, the Hawera dairy scientist, at a dairy factory meeting at Lowgarth. Now, sir, I very much regretted to see the partisan spirit shown by Mr. Veale when speaking of the Dairy Control Board. His disparaging remarks about ■ the Tooley Street agents eomes with very bad grace and savours very much of the reckless statements made by Goodfellow, Corrigan and Co. when foisting this obnoxious measure on to the unsuspecting industry. The suggestions made itre not correct, are unfair, and comes with very b,ad taste from one who can do so much good, for the industry. But hands off the political sidq' of the industry. The smouldering bitter resentment in the minds of Ihousands of free-born British subjects in this fair land will only need to wait a, few short months, or years, when the very economic position of the industry will show those unthinking fanners what a shocking mess they have made of things, and they will rise in a body t.o join with us to sweep into oblivion those brainless politicians who havq done us this great injustice. It is because of this inevitable reaction that must and will eonie I hat I make thin appeal to Mr. Veale, for his own reputation's sake, Io keep off.—l mi), etc., BIRTHRIGHT. Wuilnrii, .Aug. 16. -.•. . ■ ■-.
