VICTIM OF INFLUENZA. By Telegraph—rrese Asen.— Copyright. London, Aug. 17. The death is announced of Sir Howard Spieer, vice-chairman of Spicers Limited, the paper-making firm. He went at noon to a hotel in the vicinity of the Strand wherein he was a large shareholder. He locked himself in a room reserved for the directors, where he was found during the evening dead from a shot wound. Deceased had severe attacks of influenza during recent months.
