MAGISTRATE’S COURT.
SITTING AT INGLEWOOD. The ordinary sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held at Inglewood yesterday, when Mr. R. W. Tate, S.M., presided. In the following civil cases judgment was given for plaintiff by default: Agnes Gudgeon v. C. Gull, £1 4s 6d (costs £1 3s); E. H. Braybrooke v. R. Symes, £1 3s (costs 13s); McAllum and Faris v. Geo. Mason (costs only 10s). On a judgment summons Bernard Scanlon, who did not appear, was ordered to pay E. R. Newell £l5 16s 8d forthwith in default 15 days’ imprisonment, the order to be suspended on payment of £2 per month, the first payment to be made on August 21. A. W. Langman, who did not appear, was ordered to pay Mary M. Bennett the sum of £l5 15s forthwith, in default 15 days’ imprisonment. The same defendant was a)so ordered to pay His Majesty the King, at the suit of W -D. Armitt, Commissioner of Crown Lands, the sum of £25 8s forthwith, in default'2l days’ imprisonment. In the cases of Harris and Co. v. T. Willing, a claim for £9 3s, and David Paul v. Richard W. Davis, a claim for £9 6s 6d, the judgment debtors appeared and were examined, no order being made. On the information of the Inglewood county inspector, A. M. Dombroski was charged with allowing 8 bullocks to be at large on the Norfolk Road. He pleaded guilty and was fined. 20s ami costs 17s 6d.
