ASSOCIATION GAME

JULIAN CUP MATCH. NEW PLYMOUTH AND AUROA DRAW In a Julian Cup fixture, New Plymouth met Auroa on the Tukapa ground, the game being drawn with one goal each. New Plymouth soon attacked with a pa ing rush which ended in Johnson sending outside. The winger again got possession from the goal kiek and centred, but Kilpatrick saved. From play in New Plymouth territory, Brown sent Spedding away. Beating a couple of opponents, .Spedding passed out to Johnson, whose shot went outside. Shortly afterwards Dickenson had an unsuccessful shot, as did Royston, who missed by a yard. A vigorous attack by Auroa resulted in Jackson goaling. New Plymouth attacked, but lost several opportunities and at half-time Auroa had the lead by one to nil. Upon resumption, New Plymouth attacked and T. Spedding transferred to Johnson, whose shot went wide. Continuing to attack, Rendall had a shot which went over the bar. Auroa entered New Plymouth territory and attacked for some time, but the defence was sure. New Plymouth again attacked but Brown saved a good shot by Rendall. Auroa continued to attack but Shepherd saved. A determined effort by New Plymouth resulted in Dickenson making a fine opening and centring to Rendall, who was able to goal, and at the conclusion of the game a little later scores were even: New Plymouth 1, Auroa 1. Mr. G. W. Adams (Port Napier) refereed.

The match, Hawera v. Stratford, has been postponed, to be played on Wednesday.

PORT NAPIER i v. CALEDONIANS o. In a friendly Soccer game at the Tukapa grounds on Saturday a team from the s.s. Port Napier defeated the New Plymouth Caledonians by one goal to nil. Port Napier opened aggressively and soon the Caledonians conceded a corner kiek which went behind. New Plymouth then got away but Watson missed and play was carried to the other end, where Adams secured and scored for Port Napier. New Plymouth were soon attacking and a centre by Anderson resulted in Ibbetson shooting, but the Port Napier custodian was sure and a corner was unsuccessful. In the second spell New Plymouth improved and attacked strongly. Anderson had a shot which just missed. Port Napier got away but.Bently was safe and offside play held up a dangerous rush by Port Napier. When the whistle blew the scores were unehanged: Port Napier 1, Caledonians 0. Mr. J. G.
