OPUNAKE NEWS.

“IF I MARRY AGAIN.” [ (From Our Own Correspondent.) [ The event of the week at Opunake has been the two performances given under the above title at the .New Theatre on Monday and Tuesday nights. This musical extravaganza has quite -taken Opunake and district by storm. Full houses greeted the performers on both occasions, in spite of tempestuous weather, a thing almost unprecedented at Opunake. There is a saying “clothes make the man.” That this applied to the fair sex is abundantly evident, for residents are amazed to see the transformation in “So-and-so’s daughter” when wearing the various costumes provided by the management. Of course the plot matters little, m an entertainment of this description, and what might be lacking in plot was made up for in the gorgeous costumes, beautiful choruses and ballets, and tuneful musical numbers, all of which, but for the wise prevention of the management, would have been encored ad lib. by the delighted audience. i An enlarged orchestra should, with 'an entertainment of the high standard presented, be procured. Its. opening overture was liot up to the high standaid of the rest of the presentation. Ill's feature requires attention before the tours are arranged. Although criticism of “If I Marry Again” has not been spared, there is no question that the show is the best amateur performance ever presented in Opunake.
