THE DEMAND FOR LAND,

GREATER ACTIVITY SHOWN. (From Our Own Reporter.) Stratford, May 6. A Stratford land agency firm report a steady demand for all classes of farming properties in the district. Recently a number of sales have-been put through at satisfactory prices. Sales made include 680 acres on behalf of Mr. W. J. Brown, 270 acres on behalf of Mr. Valentine Smith at Te Popo; 60 acres owned by Mr. A. A. Wilkie, Ngaere; 115 acres from Mr. F. V. Green, Midhirst; 773 acres on behalf of Mr. W. H, Hodder (deceased), Tututawa; 95 acres from Mr. W. H. Gray, Midhirst; 11 acres and improvements on behalf of Mr. F. H. Moore, situated on the Opunake Road, Stratford. A fair demand has been experienced for town properties, and several houses have changed hands during the last few weeks. The activity shown indicates that a good enquiry has set in for payable farming propositions in the district, and that the farming community generally ate optimistic as to future prospects.
