TECHNICAL HUGH SCHOOL GIRLS’ ANNUAL SPORTS. (From Our Own Reporter.) Hawera, Nov. 4. Rain early this afternoon seriously interfered with the attendance at the annual sports of the girls of the Hawera Technical High School, but during the afternoon the weather cleared and a very successful afternoon’s, sport resulted. The heavy programme of events was managed with commendable despatch, the numerous heats being run off without delay. The girls entered into all the events with keen competitive spirit and some very fine performances were registered. A number of rtfjvel events caused great amusement amongst spectators and competitors alike, the pets race, in which girls leading dogs, lambs and fowls took part, being extremely diverting. The dogs and a lamb easily finished first. Afternoon tea was provided on the ground by the git Is of the school. Results:— Junior Hop, Step and Jump.—N. Shannon (scr) 27ft 1, I.
