MAGISTRATE'S COURT. (From Our Own Correspondent.) Opunake, Aug. 18. A sitting of the Magistrate’s Court was held at Opunake on Monday, Mr. A. M. Mowlem, 'S.M., presiding. Teonga Ratana was fined £3 (costs £1 9s) for driving a vehicle on the wrong side of the road, his action bringing about a collision with a motor-ear. Three youths, Coombe, Fleming and Bradley, were charged with failing to register for military service at the proper time. Coombe and Fleming were fined 10s each and court costs 12s, and Bradley was convicted and ordered to pay court costs.

For allowing pigs to wander around slaughtering yards E. Gray was fined £5 and costs.
