CANTERBURY MARKETS. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. The potato market shows further firming. Both Auckland and Sydney are inquiring, the latter for September delivery. Offers are on the basis of August sales, and some business lias been done. The Koro-m-iko sailed yesterday for Sydney with 6200 sacks. Auckland inquirers are not keen about paying the price now ruling. The Kaiapol is due to leave port to-morrow with about 5000 sacks. Prices to farmers are better, £5 10s to £5 12s 66 being offered. A few shillings more have been paid for later delivery. Oats are still very dull, there being no alteration in values. Partridge peas are firm at recent prices, 15s 6d on trucks. There is' a brisker inquiry for fowl wheat, which is worth 6s lid f.o.b. LONDON METAL MARKETS. Received Aufe. -IS, 5.5 p.m. London, Aug. 17. Copper.— £62 13s 9d and £63 13s Si Lead. — £37 17s 6d and £36 7s 6i Spelter.— £36 17s 6d and £36 7s 6<l. Tin —£2-57 7s 6d and £259 17s 6d. Silver.—Standard, 32 7 l-6d per oz.; fine, 35d.
