THEFT ALLEGED.

CHARGE AGAINST CLERK. By Telegraph.—Press Association. Christchurch, Last Night. A married man, 27 years of age, named Noel Mark Fowler, appeared in the Magistrate’s Court to-day on a charge of stealing money. Fowler, who until recently was employed as a clerk in the Public Works Department, Christchurch, was charged that he stole the sum of £8 6s Id, the property of the Public Works Department. As there are likely to be other charges laid, a remand was granted by the magistrate (Mr. Wyvern Wilson), and accused will appear on August 2'6.
