AN AMENDMENT MADE. (By Wire—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. The Local Bills Committee of the House has recommended that the Counties Amendment Bill should be allowed to proceed with one amendment. This consists of the deletion of the clause ?roviding that the provisions of section 33 of the principal Act "shall apply to any member of the council in whose name an imprest account stands in the same manner as if he were an officer of the council.” Section 133 provides that before any officer entrusted by the council with the custody or control of monies bv virtue of his office enters upon his office, the council shall take sufficient security fiom him for the faithful execution of those d .tics.
