HERD TESTING.
GOVERNMENT CONSIDER MATTER. (By Wire—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. Recently the Hon. D. Buddo asked the Hon. W. Nosworthy in the House whether he would assist the efforts of dairy farmers’ associations to provide an efficient dairy herd milking test either by a subsidy to defray the cost, or, as suggested by the North Canterbury Dairy Farmers’ Association, the power to levy Is per cow on the herd tested. Air. Nosworthy has replied as follows: “The question of herd testing is under consideration in all its aspects at the present time, and in this consideration due weight will be given to the points raised by the. honourable member. No mention of a levy of Is per cow was included in the suggestions recently made to the Government by the North Canterbury Association.”
