POLICE COURT.
NEW PLYMOUTH CASES. Arthur Hasler, who was arrested in New Plymouth on Saturday, appeared before Messrs. H. R. Cattley and P. J. 11. White, J.P.’s, at the Police Court yesterday morning on a charge alleging the obtaining of £4 12s fid in cash and goods to the value of 2s fid from Wong Too, at Stratford, on July 10, by means of a valueless cheque drawn on the bank of New’ Zealand at New Plymouth and signed A. B. Jackson. On the application of Deteetive-Sergeant Cooney, who appeared for the police, a remand until to-morrow was granted. Herbert Shackleton appeared on a charge of being drunk in Gilbert Street and using obscene language. He was convicted and discharged on the minor offence, and on the more serious charge he was fined x 5, in default one month’s Imprisonment.
