Harry Wills, the negro challenger fof Dempsey’s title, knocked out Charlie Wienert in the second round of ft scheduled fifteen round fight. Wills outclassed Weinert from the first bell, and the latter was finally felled by a right uppercut to the ehin. Previously Wills sunk several mighty blacksmith slams wrist deep in Weinert’s middle, taking the breath out of Weinert and making him gasp violently. Weinert was greatly distressed aftot ’ the knock-out, and he was carried tf» V\ ills’ corner, where the seconds of both: men worked over him. Wills, although warned before th* light against the practice of hugging hi. man close with his left and pounding the kidneys with his right, soon had recourse to this violent and painful gesture, at which Weinert .screamed fog the referee and the crowd hooted. Weinert was slugged clear out of the ring during the first round and was . badly punished throughout, Wills occasionally hitting low, though warned - GREB BEATS WALKER. A THRILLING CONTEST. Harry Greb retained the middleweight championship, defeating Mickey welterweight, champion, in a fifteen round fight, during which fortune, varied, but jGreb held the upper hand. Greb had Walker half unconscious on the ropes in the fourteenth, and would have put him out, but he was tdd excited to deliver the finishing blow. The bout was the most thrilling sines Dempsey and Firpo fought at the same park two years ago. Greb was the aggressor for the major part of the way. There were no knock-downs. Joe Lynch and Jack Sharkey fought a draw, and Dave Shade knocked out Jimmy Slattery in the preliminaries.
