WIMBLEDON NEARING END. LACOSTE BEATS ANDERSON. MEETS BOROTRA IN FINAL. By Telegraph.—Frees Assn.—Copyright. Received July 3, 5.5 p.m. ’ London, July 2. The Wimbledon tennis tournament is nearing tho end, the semi-final stage having been reached in most sections. Anderson was eliminated by Lacoste in the semi-finals of the men’s singles, and Laeoste and Borotra, who defeated his compatriot Cochet, will meet in the final. It is interesting to recall that the same two Frenchmen met in the final last year, when Borotra won. Details of to-day’s play are:—. MEN’S SINGLES. Semi-finals.—Laeoste (France) beat Anderson (Australia) 6—4, 7—5, 6—l; Borotra (France) beat Cochet (France) 5 B—6, 6—4, 6—l. MEN’S DOUBLES. Fourth- round.—Casey and Hennessey (America) beat Crawford and Fisher (Britain) 6—4, 4—6, 6—o, s—l, and thereby enter the semi-finals. COMBINED DOUBLES. Third round.—Washer and Mrs. Satterthwaite beat Lamb and Mrs. Harper 6 6—l. Fourth round.—Lycett and Mrs. Lycett beat Eames and Mrs. Beamish o—6,0 —6, ■6—2, B—6. Semi-final.—Borotra and MJle. Lenglen beat Lycett and Mrs. Lycett 6 —4, 5—7, 6—3. WOMEN’S DOUBLES. Semi-final. —Mrs. Bridge and Miss Mcluquham beat Mrs. Chambers and Miss Haney 6—l, 6 —4.
