LONDON MARKETS FIRM. BUTTER 190 s; CHEESE 106 s. By Telegraph.—Press Ason. —Copyright. Received July 3, 5.5 p.m. London, July 2. The butter market is firm. New Zealand choicest salted is quoted at ,188 s to 190 s; Australian 184 s to 186 s; unsalted 6s to 8s premium. Danish is quoted at 1965. The cheese market is very firm. New Zealand is quoted at 106 s and Australian at 102 s. Last week the report was: “The butter market is firm. The active ’ demand is due to the continued dry weather reducing the supplies of Irish and Continental butter, also Siberian, of which the output is likely to be less than anticipated. New Zealand choicest salted is quoted at 188 s to 190 s, unsalted 1945, Australian 182 s to 18'6s, unsalted 188 s to 190 s, and Danish about 200 s. Cheese is firm and is selling well. New Zealand is quoted at 102 s to 104 s, and Australian at 98s to 100 s.” . . The latest quotations are equivalent to approximately Is 6d per lb. f.o.b. for salted butter and Is 6Jd for. unsalted, the butter-fat payments being approximately Is 7.66 d per lb. to suppliers of collected home separated cream and Is 6.56 d to whole milk suppliers whose output was made into salted butter and Is 8.14 d and Is 7.15 d per lb. respectively to suppliers whose output was made into unsalted- butter. For cheese the quotation is equivalent to approximately 9.43 d per lb. f.0.b., the butter-fat payment being Is ,8.13 d for January-February make and Is 7.19 d for March, April, May makes. Arrivals in- England, during the week were the Ruahine, Port Wellington and Mamari. .
