FRED LOVERIDGE, who is giving up dairying, to sell by Auction, WITHOUT RESERVE, his very choice herd of:— 50 HIGH GRADE JERSEY COWS, all July and August calvers to pedigree Jersey bulls. 10 2-year grade Jersey springing heifers. 7 choice Jersey weaner heifers. 2 pedigree Jersey bulls, “Pinewood’s Golden Boy” and “Silverly’s Snow Cloud.” 2 2-year grade Jersey bulls. 2 Tamworth-Berkshire sows (due early). 1 sow with litter of nine. 11 store pigs. WITH SLIGHT RESERVE. 160 extra good 2, 4 and 6-tooth Romney ewes (in lamb to Southdown rams). 150 good f.f.m. and f.m. ewes (in lamb to English Leicester rams). 2 good half draught horses (all work) 1 3-year draught colt (unbroken). We are safe in saying that this is one of the best Jersey herds to be sold this year. The cows arc of exceptional quality, all fawns of high breeding. With the exception of eight all are second calvers. Their tests for the past season ranged from 4.2 to 7.0, averaging 5.1, and the factory returns show an average of 252 lbs fat, an excellent yield considering that 42 of the line were heifers. They are in splendid condition, due to calve early to well bred pedigree bulb, and there is not an unsound cow in the herd. The sheep also are a very good line. Buyers can be confidently recommended to attend this sale. On account of MR. S. A. GADSBY: 2 good farm horses (all harness). 2 hacks. 1 Shetland pony (show prize winner). Spring dray and harness, spring trap and harness, hillside plough, 82-gallon separator, 6 cream cans, chain harrows. Light Luncheon Provided.
