ENTERTAINMENTS.
EVERYBODY'S. , COLLEEN MOORE IN “SO BIG.” Colleen Moore, the popular little “flapper” star of “Flaming Youth” and “The Perfect Flapper” fame, opened a three night season at Everybody's Theatre last evening in “So Big,” First National’s screen version of Edna Ferber's novel. The characters ot “So Big” are picturesque. The story centers around liie in a Dutch farm settlement near the Chicago of the early 90 s. Ben Lyon, John Bowers, Wallace Beery, Ford Sterling, Dot Farley, Jean Hersholt, Sam De Grasse and Gladys Brockwell are among the favourites in a notable supporting cast. The supporting films include a two-reel comedy entitled “The Golf Bug,” a scenic film, and the latest Gaumont Graphic. A splendid musical programme is supplied by the orchestra under Mr. Chas. H. Fox’s direction. The programme shows again tonight, and finally to-morrow night. Seats may be reserved at Collier’s. There will be a matinee screening tomorrow afternoon, commencing at 2 p.m. THE PEOPLE’S. “Between Friends,” the Master picture which was shown last night at the People’s Theatre with Lou Teliegen, Anna Q. Nilsson, Norman Kerry and Alice Calhoun in the principal roles, comes from the pen of Robert W. Chambers. Mr. Chambers has written a story of the love affairs of an artist, which gives a peep at Bohemian life. The film contains many tense scenes and surprising situations. An extremely laughable Mack Sennett comedy entitled “The Lion and the Souse,” and an interesting Rathe Gazette are the supporting items. The programme screens again to-night. Admission prices are: Stalls 9d, D.C. Is 3d. Children will be admitted for 6d this evening. To-morrow's change of programme is headed by William Fox’s six-reel comedy-drama, "In Love With Love.” One of the supporting attractions will be “Grief in Bagdad,” a special two-reel comedy with a group of monkeys providing the fun. To-mor-row’s matinee commences at 2 p.m. “THE SUNSET FOUR.” TO APPEAR AT OKATO. The popular coloured male quartette, “The Sunset Four,” will appear at Okato to-morrow night in their attractive entertainment. Residents of the district may rely on spending a pleasent evening. “The Sunset Four” include many novel and original numbers in their repertoire, and these will be presented in to-morrow’s programme.
