TRADE WITH CANADA
AN OUTLET DOR PRODUCE. QUESTION OF RECIPROCITY. , (By Wire—Parliamentary Reporter.) Wellington, Last Night. In the House this afternoon Mr. J. A. Young (Hamilton) drew attention to the tact that Australia had made advantageous tariff arrangements with Canada, and he expressed the opinion that whatever concessions the Commonwealth got New Zealand should be after. The Prime Minister said that it had j seen the intention of the Hon. W. D. Stewart to visit Canada while he was in America, but circumstances had pre-’ vented him from doing so. However, the New Zealand Government had taken up the question mentioned by Mr. Young to see if it could get some reciprocal arrangement which would allow our butter to have the right of entry oir : the same terms as Australian. The matLter would have every attention from the New Zealand Government, as it was realised how important the question was.
