STATE ADVANCES MONEY.
LENT. TO LOCAL BODIES . PROTEST IN THE HOUSE. (By Wire —Parliamentary Reporter.). .. Wellington, Last Night. The payment of large sums.of money out of the State Advances Office to local bodies was complained about in the (House thin afternoon by Mr. De ■La Terrelle (Invercargill). “I am totally opposed to local authorities getting anything out of the State Advances Office,” he declared, “and I hope the Government will put its foot down.” Hon. D. Nosworthy: “It is down.” Mr. Per relic: “I hope they will keep it down and give the money to the people.”
