THE TROTTER “TAKAPO.” H. DANIEL’S DISQUALIFICATION. REDUCTION OF PENALTY. The disqualification of Harry Daniel and the horse Sweet Prince, which was entered by Daniel to run at New Plymouth on April 18 under the name of Takapo, was reviewed at a special meeting of the judicial coAimittee of the Taranaki Trotting Club, and the original penalty of three years’ disqualification as announced on April 27 has been reduced to one year’s disqualification. The case had ibeen referred back to the club by the New Zealand body, and after a full discussion on the matter the club resolved as follows: “That Harry Daniel,, of Waverley, and the horse Sweet Prince, nominated as Takapo, be disqualified under part 32 of the New Zealand rules of trotting for one year, and that the said Harry Daniel be ordered to pay £3O towards the cost of the inquiry for wilfully and -corruptly supplying false information respecting a matter connected with trotting, as set out in the statement of charges.” RACING IN AUSTRALIA.
