NORTH TARANAKI PLAY. OLD GIRLS V. TECHNICAL COLLEGE. Technical Coliege and Old Giris met at New fllymouth in their first game in the ladies’ competition on Saturday and were defeated after a hard struggle by six goals to nil. Technical opened the attack and kept Old Girls' backs busy, but they were soon driven back by Cis James. Up and down play ensued with splendid combination on both sides. Old Girls then attacked, and from a corner hit D. Beaucoek scored the first goal. Half time was called shortly afterwards. On resuming Technical fought hard to even the score, but without avail, for shortly afterwards, from a good forward rush by Old Girls, N. Hodges scored a lucky goal, the ball just rolling in after being stopped by Technical’s goalie. From then on play was in Technical’s twentyfive, and goals were scored by F. Knapman, V. Mountfort and N. Hodges (2). Time was called shortly after, the score being: Old Girls 6, Technical College 0. Mr. C. Prior refereed.
