PAST SEASON REVIEWED. MEETINGS OF COMPANIES. URUTI VALLEY CO-OP. The annual meeting of shareholders of the Uruti Valley Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., was held on Thursday, Mr. F. L. Boyes presiding over an attendance of about 30 shareholders. The annual report stated: During the past year butter only has been made and the total butter-fat received shows an increase of 87981 b. over the previous year. The following are the quantities and averages for the year: Number of suppliers 40 j cream received 650,2271 b.; butter-fat 271,1461 b.; butter made 32.4-,-0891 b.; overrun 19.79 per cent.; average te&t 41.31 per cent.; average grade 91.59. The cost of manufacture and putting the butter f.o.b. ocean steamer was 1.95 a per pound of butter, or 2.33 d per lb. butt er-fat. Depreciation amounted to .20d per pound butter-fat and export levy .07d. After writing off £326 for depreciation, there is a balance to credit of profit and loss account of £3157. The directors now recommend a further payment of 2|d per lb. of butter-fat supplied for the year, which will bring the total payment to nearly 16fd. There are 1348 boxes butter on the water and 300 boxes unshipped, which have been taken into the accounts at Is 2d per lb., any surplus' from these to be paid out when account sales are all completed. The auditor’s certificate stated that the weight of butter made from each pound of butter-fat used in the manufacture of butter was 1.19791 b., and the percentage which the weight of unsalted butter manufactured bears to the total weight of butter manufactured was 16.68 per cent. The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Mr. D. S. Musker, who retired by rotation from the directorate, was reelected. Mr. A. J. Tunbridge was re-elected auditor. The chairman was granted an honorarium of £25 and each director £5. At a subsequent meeting of directors Mr. F. L. Boyes was re-elected chairman. Mr. W. P. Jones, of the North Taranaki Co-operative Dairy Coniapny, was appointed manager of the factory. OKAU COMPANY. A satisfactory position as a result of the company’s operations for the past season was revealed at the thirteenth annual meeting of the Okau Co-opera-tive Dairy Company, Ltd., held at Okau on Wednesday. Mr. H. E. Collins presided over a fair attendance of shareholders.

The annual report stated: The output has been maintained, being 4831 b. of Ibutter increase on last year. The cream received amounted to 517,7241 b., butterfat 210,1001 b., making 253,2851 b. of butter, an overrun of 20.55 per cent., the average test was 40.58. Tire average grade for the season was 90.63. The cost of manufacture and putting butter f.o.b. ocean steamer, including repairs and overhead expenses, was 2.18 d per lb of Ibutter-fat. CreafU cartage cost •43d per lb. butter-fat, dairy control export levy .08d per lb., and depreciation and road ,19d. The profit and loss account, after writing’ off depreciation, shows a balance of £1776 12s lOd for distribution. This will enable a further payment of 2d per lb. of Ibutterfar supplied for the whole year. There were 1133 boxes on the water at date of balance, and 200 boxes unshipped, which have all been taken into the accounts at Is 2d per lb. When all account sales are in final payment will be made.

Statistics covering the .1925 and 1924 seasons were as follows (the 1924 figures being given in parentheses): Numlber of suppliers, 40 (43); cream received, 517,7241 b. (526,1731 b. butter-fat, 210,1001 b. (209,5301 b. butter made, 253,285 lb. (252,8021 b. average test cream, 40.58 per cent. (39.8 per eent.); overrun, 20.55 per cent. (20.65 per cent.); average price paid to suppliers, —— (17fd|; average grade, 90.63 (90.72). The auditor (Mr. A. J. Tunbridge) certified that the weight of butter made from each pound of butter-fat used in the manufacture of butter was 1.20551 b.

The report and balance-sheet were adopted. Messrs. W. G. McGregor and J. B. Carr were elected directors to fill the vacancies caused by the resignation of Messrs. T. E. Astwood and H. L. Lewis, who did not offer themselves for reelection. Mr. A. J. Tunbridge was re-elected auditor. A long discussion took place on the matter of cream cartage, and it was decided that the necessary arrangements be made by the company and that all cream carting be paid for by the company. , , The usual honoraria were granted to the chairman and the directors in recognition of the services rendered by them during the past season. At a subsequent meeting of the directors, Mr. H. E. Collins was reelected chairman. TABUKUTANGI COMPANY. The twenty-seventh annual report, which will. be presented at the annual meeting of shareholders of jthe Tarurut»ngi Co-operative Dairy Company, Ltd., states that the company has had a very successful year. There remained a credit balance to the profit and loss account amounting to Ldldl Bs Bd, arid the directors would make . a further payment at the meeting of 3d per pound of blitter-fat supplied during of butter manufactured was 13'6 tons, being an increase of four tons over the previous year. The total amount of cream received was b 82,429 ibs. from which was obtained 200,722 ibs? of butter-fat, the average test being 86.73 per cent. The shareholders will be called upon to elect two directors in place of Messrs. G. M. Longstaff and A. C. Pegg, who retire, and, (being eligible, offer themselves for re-election..
